After its humumgous success at the box office, Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘ is now making buzz on OTT. The film released on two giant streaming platforms in different languages. While the Hindi version of the movie released on Netflix, it has released in other languages on Amazon Prime. While it’s getting a lot of love on OTT, the film has also been in news for Arshad Warsi’s comment on it and in some way, the internet also agreed to his statement about Prabhas‘ portrayal in the movie.Meanwhile, just as the buzz around the film continues, here’s some latest update on the sequel.
According to a latest report, the sequel is set to go on floors next year. Producers and sister duo Priyanka Dutt (also director Nag Ashwin‘s wife) and Swapna Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies have confirmed this. The sister duo was present at the screening of the film at the Moscow Film Festival. They told News18, “The filming will start in the next five or six months (January or February 2025). Once it starts, we’ll be able to talk more about it.”
According to reports, Kalki 2 will focus on Yaskin’s character (played by Kamal Haasan) who is the antagonist in the movie. As per reports, the seqeul will take three years to complete. Prabhas had also hinted that the sequel will be divided in two parts. Some parts of it were also short in the earlier schedules of the film when the first part was being filmed.
As fans get more excited for the sequel, here’s what they can expect. Talking about it, Swapna added, “This time around, there’s a lot more excitement than nervousness. I think there will be a lot more planning now. Whatever we did for part one, we were all just going by Nag Ashwin’s vision. It often happens that you don’t understand most of the things until you actually see the visuals. Now that we’ve seen everything that Nagi has done and understood the way the audience has received it, we’re going on to part two with an altogether different energy.”
