Stree 2 Box Office Hits Rs 542 Crore: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor Shine |
After a whopping opening of Rs 50 crore, Stree 2 rocked the box office with an impressive debut weekend business of Rs 291.65 crore. Enjoying a glorious run at the box office, this horror drama refuses to slow down.
In its second week, Stree 2 earned Rs 141.4 crore, the numbers fell by nearly 50 percent in the third week, as the film earned Rs 70.2 crore.In its fourth week, Stree 2 added Rs 36.1 crore to its total, and on its fifth Friday, the film earned Rs 3.35 crore, taking the total domestic business to Rs 542.70 crore. The worldwide collection of the film stands at Rs 766 crore. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 starrer Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana.
The film arrived on August 15, clashing with Akshay Kumar’s multi-starrer Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. Speaking about competing with Akshay, Rajkummar Rao had recently shared at an event, “I have learned a lot from Akshay sir. I grew up watching stars like him. He is our superstar, and you don’t compete with your superstar, you love them. I am his fan. I’ve learned so much by watching people like Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Akshay sir. They’ll always be my superstars, and I’ll always look up to them.” Expressing his amdmiration for Akshay, he further added, “I’m so middle-class that even today, if I get a call from Akshay Kumar, I stand up in excitement and tell everyone, ‘Look, Akshay sir is calling!’ I can’t believe I’m working in the same industry as the people I’ve admired all my life. Competing with them is unimaginable.”
