Stree 2 Full Movie Collection: Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 crosses Rs 250 crore mark; becomes 21st biggest hit of Bollywood |
Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao led Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik is rewriting box office records from the day of its release. On its first day, that is 15th August, it became the highest grosser on Independence day beating the likes of Ek Tha Tiger and Gadar 2. By the near end of the extended weekend, it had also become the highest grossing comedy horror film, beating Golmaal Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and all this is happening in just its first week.And on its sixth day, the film crossed the Rs 250 crore mark.
The film had its paid previews on 14th August, where it minted Rs 8.5 crore, and took a humongous opening on 15th August with Rs 51.8 crore, and followed it up with Rs 31.4 on Friday, and Rs 43.85 crore on Saturday. The film peaked on Sunday to collect Rs 55.9 crore and on Monday, which was a partial holiday on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the film went on to earn Rs 38.1 crore, and on Tuesday which was technically its first weekday, the film went on to earn Rs 25 crore as per early estimates by Sacnilk. Its overall collection now stands at 254.55 crore, making it the 22nd Hindi film to cross this landmark.
Stree 2 is now in the running for a spot in the highest grossing of all time for Bollywood and it has already reached the 21st spot, a jump of 8 spots from Tuesday morning. But now, the battle will get even more fierce, as the film is up against titles like Dhoom 3 ( Rs 271.07) , RRR ( Hindi- Rs 272.28) and Tiger 3 ( Rs 276.62).Stree 2 also features Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee with guest appearances by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and Tamannaah Bhatia. The film belongs to Horror – Comedy Universe with Bhediya and Munjya already part of it.
