Stree 2 Full Movie Collection: Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 has breached the top 30 hits of Hindi cinema in just 5 days |
If Nag Ashwin directed and Prabhas led Kalki 2898 AD was the big box office mover in the first half of the year, the second half has started with a bang with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao led Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik . The sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy Stree, has shaken the Hindi box office in a way no one expected, and in style which will be quite difficult to replicate for the films to follow.
The film had its paid previews on 14th August, where it minted Rs 8.5 crore, and took a humongous opening on 15th August with Rs 51.8 crore, and followed it up with Rs 31.4 on Friday and Rs 43.85 crore on Saturday. The film peaked on Sunday to collect Rs 55.9 crore and on Monday, which was a partial holiday on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the film went on to earn Rs 37 crore as per early estimates by Sacnilk. This took the total collection of the film to Rs 228.45 crore.

In the process, Stree 2 has gone on to become the highest grossing horror comedy film of all time beating the likes of Golmaal Again ( Rs 205.69 ) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 ( 184.32). Another feat achieved by the Amar Kaushik directorial is that it has broken the shackles of being bound by a genre. In the last 5 days, the film has gone to beat lifetime records of films like Salman Khan’s Bharat ( Rs 212.03), Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter ( Rs 212.79) and Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki ( Rs 227 crore).
Stree 2 in just 5 days, has become the 29th biggest hit of Hindi Cinema, and if the film continues to stay steady over the week and show a spike in the coming extended weekend on the occasion of Janmashtami, it is bound to make place for itself in the top 10 list.
